On the 6th September 2008, Penang Eng Choon Association organized their first Hokkien Singing Competition at Dewan Sri Pinang. The heavy rain did not deter the competition as the contestants have mesmerized the audience with their beautiful melodies and costumes. The show went on smoothly and successfully for the night. Taiping is the wettest place in the country. Pretty much in the afternoon of the wedding day of Rick & Kuan, it started to rain heavily. But it did not damper the mood of both the groom and bride as the show must still go on. Later in the evening, Rick & Kuan hold a simple fare of vegetarian dinner for their relatives and friends at one of the halls of the Chinese Association in Taiping. Once again, congratulations to both Rick & Kuan.
